Look, I get it that each episode leaves us with a cliffhanger and the inner satisfaction doesn't get pleased. But at such moments, it is better to stop.
Why should this be stopped?
Binge watching has some serious adverse effect on your life. You might be able to function normally after 13 hours of binge-watching an entire season of that amazing Netflix show but there are people who cannot do so. Even you'd start to feel weary after a couple of days binge-watching.
It may cost your friends. Think about it. You binge-watch every episode and every season available for a series before your friends do. Now you are stuck with people who would likely take your lives the moment you talk spoilers. You will constantly have this temptation to spoil things for them. This might result in a broken friendship.
It's making you dumb. In this age actually, no one sits and discusses the shows. Why would we do it when we can both watch it all again from torrents? Seriously, those good old days' discussion of One Piece and Ben 10 and other shows have come to an end. Nowadays, we just sit and stare. That makes us dumber.
How to avoid it?
We need to compromise. My suggestion would be to slow down and join some discussions about the show, but with no spoilers. Or maybe the show makers should slow down the releases a little. There are ongoing animes which have a weekly release. If you don't want to lose interest in the show which already has a few seasons, why not watch three episodes per week? Isn't that a good idea?
So, how do you control your binge-watching habit? Or do you keep on watching without caring about it? Let me know your suggestions in the comment section. Also, why not share this blog post with your friends? I'm sure they're gonna like this.
