Fortnite is joining the world of esports, with Epic Games announcing to fund prize pools of $100,000,000 for competitions in the 2018-2019 season.
Fortnite’s most recent LTM, Solo Showdown, was the first time we saw a battle royale leaderboard with rewards in-game. Surely, they wanted to extend it further!
"We’re getting behind competitive play in a big way, but our approach will be different - we plan to be more inclusive, and focused on the joy of playing and watching the game."
Epic Games has not given many details on their post. We still don't have any idea about its plans for upcoming tournaments, or how players can sign up to be a part of it. Anyways, we can expect to hear more in the coming weeks.
