No Man's Sky is getting multiplayer this July

No Man’s Sky’s next major content update is out this summer which is going to bring full-fledged multiplayer with it. On an Inside Xbox stream, Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray announced that both the Xbox One version and the multiplayer update would launch on July 24.

In a blog post from Hello Games, Murray also clarified that the multiplayer Next update will launch as a free update to PC & PS4 owners the same day as the Xbox One version.

While limited multiplayer already exists in the game, the Next update will allow players to group up with friends to survive, build, race and simply relax in the massive space world of No Man’s Sky. Hello Games, the developers of No Man’s Sky had released a teaser for the update at the end of March.
